Behind AVALES: A brief interview with Laura Guttenberger

The AVALES Wilhelm AG is starting the second quarter of 2023 with a new face - we warmly welcome Laura Guttenberger. For over five years, Laura Guttenberger has been working on psychometric data analysis for companies in various industries across Europe. In her previous field of expertise, she was responsible for developing questionnaires, data preparation, and presenting resulting recommendations for companies. During her time as an ambassador for the Economic Summit Germany, she not only met important personalities in politics and business but also managed a team of 12 employees to organize various events in Europe as an operation manager. As of April 1st, 2023, she is now working with us as a senior consultant.

What led you to apply to AVALES Wilhelm AG?

I was looking for a permanent position where I could be creative, feel comfortable, and above all, continue to develop. That's why I applied for a job as a researcher at Wilhelm AG that was advertised. The conversation with the recruiter was extremely interesting and informative. However, after our interview, he recommended that I apply to AVALES Wilhelm AG as my creative and psychological component could be put to better use there than in the strict evaluation of data. As I have always been fascinated by the topic of assessment, I decided to submit my application. After my first interview with Andreas Rudolph, I could immediately identify myself with the role of senior consultant and was thrilled with the team and the entire company.

What connects you to the HR consulting industry?

During my studies, I not only took several modules on personnel psychology and personnel management but also gained practical experience. During my time at Studitemps GmbH, I acquired suitable candidates for management vacancies, and in my position at SAP SE in Walldorf, I was responsible for recruiting suitable applicants for training positions in the IT industry. In addition, I also worked as a profiler at meteor16, creating profiles for suitable candidates in the financial sector.

How would you describe your key skills and experiences that you would like to bring to your new role?

One of my key skills is setting priorities effectively. It is important to keep a cool head in the chaos of various tasks and set priorities correctly.

I have also trained myself in behavioral analysis and can use this skill effectively in assessments and writing evaluations.

My open and communicative nature makes it easy for me to quickly and easily connect with people. In my role as a consultant, this is a very important characteristic, especially in the field of assessments.

How would you characterize yourself?

I would describe myself as open, humorous, charismatic, sociable, and adventurous. I am someone who enjoys approaching other people and making new contacts. Whether it is professional or personal contacts, I am always open to conversations and look forward to meeting new people. My communicative nature helps me quickly build a connection with others and find common interests.

Where can you be found in your free time?

In my free time, you can often find me taking relaxing walks by the lake. I enjoy leaving everyday life behind and feeling the nature around me. If I'm not in nature, I like to spend time with friends in a nice bar. I enjoy the relaxed atmosphere while having a glass of white wine.
